We love Tweeds for so many reasons. The top of the list has to be ethically sourced meat. If you are truly a meat enthusiast, you MUST start supporting ethical treatment of animals. Everything we have had a Tweeds has been on par or better than any of our favorites ... the added comfort of knowing that you know exactly where the bison comes from makes the meal that much more satisfying.
A TRUE RIVERHEAD CLASSIC! ANYONE HEADING EAST, TO THE VINEYARDS OR THE HAMPTONS...MUST EXPERIENCE TWEEDS!!!This warm and inviting East End legend, must not be kept a local secret! The very amazing atmosphere and warm welcome speaks for itself! There is far more here than the famous "Bison Steaks and Burgers"! The fresh seafood, particularly the raw bar oysters are fantastic. The menu is contains varied choices and is a great reflection of the North Fork's local fresh ingredients, and classic traditional history. The specials are well worth hearing the wait staff describe! My staff and I meet here regularly for lunch meetings and both business and casual dinners. The staff is tremendously helpful and attentive, and the owner goes out of his way to make everyone happy! We encourage you to stop in for a cocktail, or glass of local wine and an appetizer, with the great bartenders, or have a multi-course gourmet meal....you will not be disappointed!
Tweeds has the best of everything I've had there. Oysters, bison burgers, elk, striped bass. If it's on their menu, it's great. Super friendly staff and the owner is always there and ready to have the most interesting conversations. Bar tenders know the craft as well and ready to make your visit amazing too.
Awesome menu, good beers, great wait staff, amazing decor! It's our main destination whenever we visit the North Fork. Scallops are a must try if they're available...sweet and tender with a lemony butter sauce that complements without overwhelming.
Have been going to Tweeds for years and never disappointed. Whenever we are on the north fork this is our go to place, usually for lunch but sometimes for dinner as well. It has been open since the late 1800's and is best known for its bison steaks. Our favorite dishes for lunch are the duck wrap, the bison Reuben and the bison chili. For dinner without a doubt the bison steak medium rare. Their fries are homemade and thick cut. The food is consistently good and we have never had a disappointing experience. The atmosphere is cozy, with a nice fireplace in the winter and piano music certain nights. I guess anything that has made it over 120 years must be pretty good. If you are on the north fork this is a must go place to eat!!
